Decentralized trading requires specialized knowledge. Master the terminology of the darknet to ensure your safety, anonymity, and financial security.
Welcome to the official Torzon Wiki. The darknet operates on a set of protocols and slang that can be confusing for newcomers from the clearnet. Understanding the difference between Escrow and Finalize Early is not just academic—it is the difference between receiving your goods and losing your coins.
This glossary is designed to be your companion while browsing listings. If you encounter a term like "FE Only" or "Multisig" and do not understand the implications, check here first. We have categorized terms into Transaction Mechanics, Cryptography, and Logistics.
You might wonder why FE exists if it is risky. It is primarily for vendors to protect themselves against price volatility of crypto and dishonest buyers who receive goods but never finalize. On Torzon, FE privileges are only granted to vendors with Level 10 Trust and $50,000+ in successful volume. Never FE for a new vendor.
Torzon enforces strict encryption standards. We do not store addresses in plaintext on our servers. Even if the server is seized by law enforcement, your address should only exist as a PGP-encrypted block that they cannot read.
When you communicate with a vendor, you must encrypt your shipping address with their Public Key. The result looks like the block below. If you send your address as "123 Main St", you are violating OpSec rules and your order may be rejected.
"I can just buy Bitcoin on Coinbase, send it to a mixer (tumbler), and then send it to Torzon. That makes me anonymous."
Reality: Blockchain analysis companies (Chainalysis) can now trace through mixers with high accuracy. Your exchange account will be frozen, and your identity linked to the market.
"I should buy Litecoin or Bitcoin, swap it for Monero on a non-KYC exchange (like CakeWallet or LocalMonero), and then send XMR to the market."
Reality: Monero is currently untraceable by design. Once converted to XMR, the link to your identity is broken. This is why Torzon is XMR-only.
| Term | Definition | Usage Context |
|---|---|---|
| Drop | The address where you receive packages. Can be your house (Clean Drop) or an empty property. | "Is your drop safe for a bulk order?" |
| Burned | An address or identity that has been compromised by Law Enforcement or Customs. | "That drop is burned, packages never arrive." |
| Stealth | The method used to hide the product inside the package (e.g., vacuum sealed inside a toy). | "Vendor has excellent stealth, passed customs easily." |
| Love Letter | A seizure notice from Customs/Postal Service stating they confiscated a package. | "I got a love letter today, time to change drops." |
| Dox | Publishing private information (Name/Address) maliciously. | "Scammers threatened to dox me if I didn't pay." |
| Phishing | Fake links resembling the market URL to steal passwords. | "Always check the URL signature to avoid phishing." |
The Wiki is not exhaustive. The landscape of the darknet changes rapidly. New vulnerabilities in PGP clients or updates to the Monero protocol can change best practices overnight. We recommend regularly checking the News section and the Dread forums for the latest security advisories.
Remember: You are the weakest link in your own security. Technology like Tor and Monero works, but only if you use it correctly without cutting corners.
